Jack was every Inch a Sailor G

The Jack was every inch a sailor, five and twenty years no failure,
Jack was every inch a sailor, born by the port of Brightlingsea.

It was twenty-five to thirty years since jack first saw the light,
He was born upon his father’s smack one dark and stormy night.
They couldn’t make the harbour his parents were forlorn
So dropped the hook up Pyefleet creek, a baby by the morn.
(Chorus)
Jack was every inch a sailor, five and twenty years no failure,
Jack was every inch a sailor, born by the port of Brightlingsea.

When Jack grew up to be a man he sailed from shore to shore,
He must have sailed around the world a dozen times or more.
He was a very jolly chap full of wit and charm,
Drinking ale and telling tales with a girl upon each arm.
(Chorus)

One night when jack was on the helm the wind began to blow,
It blew so hard that jack’s tall ship was tossing to and fro,
A great big wave crept up on jack and washed him through the rail,
He was swept into the sea and swallowed by a whale
(Chorus)

Jack found himself inside the whale and a maiden he did meet,
With long blonde hair and sea blue eyes with fins instead of feet.
With time and social intercourse of love there was no doubt,
Their movements did upset the whale so he spat the lovers out.
(Chorus)

Jack loved his new relationship and parting would be sad,
So he took the maid to Brightlingsea to meet his Mum & Dad.
And then he told the maiden he’d go to sea no more,
Now they have six kids up Pyefleet creek who swim from ship to shore.
(Chorus) boom boom boom boom
